Some one close to me use to be in an abusive relationship for over a year. My question is, What kept her with him for so long? Did she expect to change him? Or did she confuse the beatings as a sign of how much he cared? The more he hit her the more he loved her. Its amazing how we confuse the bad for good, but then run the good things away. Like the saying "Its to good to be true" ..  Are we really that hard on ourselves that we can't recognize the good, but quick to accept the bad?
